Not easy getting to a person. Too early to tell whether this Attorney is worth recommending.

Update: Still VERY difficult to reach a person/staff or Attorney by phone. I live roughly 45 minutes from this Office and want to ensure someone is there...no answer AND no callback 2 business-days later. Inexcusable....

In the single face to face meeting with his Paralegal, I was pleased with the tone, attention and advice for my role as an Executor. Expected behavior from a professional.

Very rude and inconsiderate when it came to me asking questions about council. A lady answered the phone and then proceeded to give me attitude and actually hung up the phone on me while I was talking and refused to give me her name . Wouldnt look for help from these guys I really question the integrity

This guy is in my estimation is the worst. A young lady came to me with a problem. She felt she could pay the fee over time but she lacked the money for a large retainer. Yet her children are at stake. I said I would give her the money and she asked me to see the attorneys with her so that she could get an older persons view point. After a meeting he said we need to get him $6500 fast to start the case, no other terms information than that for my $100.

My wife called and asked what things she should put on the check.

The young girl brings the $6500 to him and now it is critical he as access to my money too. Jay says I don't want him(me) to call and ask questions. The girl says, "He was just there for the consultation." Then he changes his tune and terms again and says the girl is not credit worthy(No credit check just his fine eyes). Then Jay C. Paul (A man who changes terms of agreement without notice then says in writing) Hey It is not just the $6500, I too am going to have to sign letter of agreement. I am not married to the young girl and I am not even a family member. THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED AT THE $100 consultation. NEW TERM...JAY PAUL... A MAN Who, Obviously lacks integrity. When he says something he can change his terms and agreement at any point in time. I don't think he should be a lawyer.

I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. He is very rude and he never return calls. He never was interest in our case at all and it showed. The only reason I gave him a 1 star becuase there is not a zero star.

I called to set up an appointment for a consultation weeks ago. The Front office never returned my call with information and could not give a date as to when I would be scheduled. Finally, when I called back days later, the receptionist was horrible to me, as if I had inconvenienced her by calling to ask a question. Before responding to the question, she gave out a loud Sigh and then proceeded to respond.
I apologized for not hearing her but this is not someone that I would want to work with.

NOTE THAT NOTHING IS EVER GUARANTEED! Mr. Jay C. Paul represented my case in family court, and I have been impressed throughout the entire process from the moment I met his staff, Mr. Paul himself, until the final overall court decision. Please note, Mr. Paul is prior service for those of you who are in the military. I gave all details about my case to Mr. Paul and did not withhold any information. I can tell you firsthand that he does not waste your time as you should not waste his because he is there for YOU.
Based on your situation and again, giving him all detailed information, Mr. Paul will provide several courses of action for overall final possibilities before entering the courtroom. Understand, as I stated in the first opening statement, do not go into his office expecting everything to go your way. Virginia laws dictate the outcome of your circumstance, so it is best to get a full understanding of what Virginia laws and penal codes are related to your family court case. In my experience with Mr. Paul, it is in your best interest to prepare ALL facts and assumptions on a word document or email so you and Mr. Paul can discuss to decide what is relevant for your case. If this is a matter of child custody, from my experience in Virginia, it is either sole physical and legal custody or shared physical and legal custody. Please request this from him to have a full understanding. Have a plan and prepare documents (excel, word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) on what you are trying to accomplish in the areas of the school for the kids, daycare for the kids, visitation schedule, letters and if you can obtain an example of a court order from someone that fits your needs and have it written and presented to Mr. Paul and calendar events related to your case (confrontations, visitations, etc.). Trust me when I say this, Mr. Paul and I agreed to come in prepared, saved much time. From my experience, I recommend him to anyone. Final note, before seeing him or ANY lawyer, remember, lawyers know the law, and you don’t. This means come in with a positive attitude that he is there to help and fight within the parameters of your situation.

Jay Paul is the worst lawer I have ever had the opportunity of meeting. Very disrespectful, arrogant, self centered and argumentative. He does not care a bit about you or your case. All he is concerned with is how much money he is getting paid. I do not recommend him for any court case what so ever or even a simple traffic ticket. He definitely seems to hate his life and be a miserable human. He needs some serious life therapy and not sure that would even help him with his issues. It seems that he doesn't have one but bless his little heart because it's clear that he hates his life and every waking moment he has. I would hate for anyone to grow up and have a miserable life like this guy has... I only recommend that you find a different lawer because he is not the one to have for any case at all...
