I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the current state of our city and the way it is being managed. As a resident of PORTSMOUTH , I have always taken pride in our community. However, recent developments have left me and many others feeling disheartened.

Firstly, the issue of homelessness/ panhandlers on every corner. The increasing number of potholes on our streets, has been a persistent problem. Despite multiple reports and complaints, there seems to be little to no action taken to address this. This not only poses a risk to the safety of drivers and pedestrians but also reflects poorly on the maintenance standards of our city.

Additionally, the dark parking lot when you’re out shopping no one is changing the bulbs in the light post. the lack of effective waste management, has led to unsightly litter and overflowing bins in public areas. This issue detracts from the beauty of our city and can have serious health implications. As a community, we deserve a clean and healthy environment to live in.

Moreover, the third specific issue, limited access to recreational facilities and green spaces is affecting the quality of life for residents. It is essential for our city to provide adequate spaces for families and individuals to engage in outdoor activities and promote a healthy lifestyle.

I urge the city council to take immediate and effective action to address these issues. We need a transparent plan with clear timelines and accountability to ensure that our concerns are not only heard but acted upon. It is crucial for the city council to actively engage with the community, listen to our feedback, and work towards solutions that will benefit all residents.

I appreciate the efforts of the city council in managing our city, but there is a pressing need for improvement in these areas. I am hopeful that with your leadership, we can make Portsmouth Virginia a better place for everyone.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. I look forward to seeing positive changes in our city.

I must say it is quite disheartening to hear news that our City Officials are sitting on Millions from Covid Relief Fund. I bet each member has in some way helped themselves. Guess they have forgotten they are elected officials put in office by Citizens who all ready pay the highest Real Estate Tax in Hampton Roads. Well once a good majority start moving out they will figure it out.
