I was trying to seek their advice for a person in need and I have to say they were tremendously rude and disengaged. They shouldn’t provide pro bono services if that’s their attitude as they’re really speaking to people in need.

Most useless group of "lawyers" you can put together. Long story short...didn't receive the full money I was legally owed because Matthew Latterner and his "team" were too lazy to follow up. Once the case had been settled I tried emailing, phone calling and texting to get updates on my payment. I must have reached out a combined amount of 30+ times, all of which were ignored.

Worst Legal Aid ever !! They do not know much about laws, waisted 3years waiting on a divorce/child support case and still not resolved. They do not know how to advise clients, they just agreed to any requests from the other party, plus they give you attitude if you disagree. I will reserved the names of a few people, but I did not find the support I was looking for. I ended up doing everything myself with the help and advice from the helpdesk at the Family Supreme Court. Too bad I can’t give 0 star !!

It's a big place with a lot of very nice and helpful people I've been going there for a few months during an eviction proceeding I highly recommend this I'm and it's easy to find don't take the one train though the two and the three get you there much faster...

Mr Rasmussen, if the level of service you provide is the equivalent of > what NYC landlords can get away with then they win through and through and you are but a sham. the ten minutes of advice i got from Saxton- before he hung up on me would have made my LL really happy- just move. When i say i have no where to go- sure you do he tells me. More gaslighting just what I need. if this is your idea of advice and support - you've lost the plot. "Demand Justice" you say? This is an abomination. thanks.

I had a Rocky start Because my initial attorney went on leave. But the replacement attorney was so polite patient and thoroughly helpful I could not believe. And I WON MY CASE! I thank God for my attorney Mrs Morrow!

I received legal assistance from this agency. The attorney, Nate Treadwell was nice in the office but when I met him in court he was hasty and impolite and chose to go before the judge with the opposing attorney outside of my presence. The court granted me a refund from the landlord and Mr. Treadwell did not disclose the information to me. Mr. Treadwell did not answer my phopne calls and I left several messages for him. I found out 2 years later after obtaining copies of court documents. This agency is responsible for the attorney/interns they accept or hire. Manhattan Legal Services and other non-profits should repay the city the grant money they received for poorly and in many cases, providing ineffective representation. These agencies should be monitored and held accountable. The average individual cannot afford to pay an attorney $495 per hour to represent them in court. I had to give one star just to leave this review. I hope it helps someone make an informed decision.

They refuse to help me with a simple case. They only give referrals to other legal aids, who doesn't pick up their phone or can't help smh.
