Dealing with the IRS is never a good or fun thing, but when you need help, there are a LOT of businesses that claim they can simply make it go away, just not true. You will get tons of mail with 'Offer and Compromise' of a fraction of what you owe, which again, is just a scam and fantasy to sucker you in so they can charge you a lot of money and make you think they can work miracles. There are no miracles with the IRS, there is no magic solutions to make them happy, the IRS is the extreme opposite of happiness, but having someone in your corner that you trust and can work with the IRS to help find reasonable solutions is the best route to take.

You do get what you pay for, if you want a cheap attorney to help you, likely you will never get the results, and often times make it worse than it was before - I tried that path, and still paying for it. It is an investment to save your assets, your home, and worse - the IRS is the one agency that can pretty much take everything from you, including freezing your own bank accounts!

That is why I chose Merriam Law, they saved my butt, I got into a hole that really needed help not just digging out of, but to stop making it get bigger. My hole was pretty deep, but over a period of time, they were able to put together a package to present to them that they accepted, not easy to do, but the true pros know how to talk to and manage the IRS.

If you are having issues getting things straight with the IRS, I highly recommend working with the Merriam Law team, every case is different, ever outcome is different, but I believe they are qualified to help find the best outcome for you.

Law firm abandoned an entire box containing four large binders full of client's personal financial records several blocks away - requiring client make a special trip to Denver from Minneapolis - at great undue expense - to personally track down and retrieve - which took many weeks to recover. Client also identified numerous billing items that client had earlier explicitly stated in writing were not and would not be authorized. Lawyer / client relationship was severed given the aforementioned issues, in addition to client's position that law firm demonstrated not only a total lack of integrity, but also a total lack of competency. Client believes the firm is DEFINITELY one to be avoided under ALL circumstances.
