This organization doesn't care about workers or our rights.

I called about a workplace discrimination case and they had me detail my traumatic experience in great detail to a layperson. This person who had no legal background then forwarded the info to an attorney. The attorney swiftly looked at my case and said that though my experience at this racist & hostile workplace was "uncomfortable" & "unpleasant," that I had no recourse.

Luckily, I put no faith in the legal system here and know that there are other routes to seek justice. But what if I hadn't known that & took their word? This is why abuse and racism perpetuate, because citizens (particularly vulnerable ones) are to defer to "experts" who don't care for justice, only virtue signaling & getting paid.

Do NOT use this service. Save your time & your emotional well-being by not being gaslit and having your traumatic & illegal experiences diminished . Get second, third and fourth opinions and know that all REAL change occurs through defiant citizens, not lawyers or politicians.

The one positive review here for the Workersโ€™ Rights Clinic is by Nicholas Katz, who himself works at the clinic, which is an obvious conflict of interest.

I contacted the clinic about my former employer refusing to accommodate my disabilities. I could not speak directly to an attorney on the calls. Although I sent lots of documentation ahead of my scheduled calls, the intermediary I had to use was totally unfamiliar with my case and kept making mistakes, as well as long pauses when I asked even basic questions. When I asked to speak to an actual attorney, the clinic acted as though it were a huge imposition.

I finally did speak to Mr. Katz but he refused to give me any advice. When I asked if I had a strong case, he said, โ€œNo lawyer will tell you that.โ€ What he meant was, โ€œNo lawyer will tell you that for free.โ€ With a laugh he admitted my employer had not accommodated my disability, but I already knew that. When it came to legal advice, referring me to a law firm, etc. there was no actual assistance.

Donโ€™t waste your time with this clinic. If you think you have a case, send your details to law firms and ask if they will take your case on contingency. Trying to get help from this clinic, even if you share details to get an informed opinion, is a waste of time. I imagine the only reason any attorneys associate with this clinic is so they can put it on their CV and give the impression they are good liberals when all they really care about is advancing their careers.

I chose Washington lawyers committee to fight my case and She ended up putting her self in the defendants case side. I hired her to take my case for me to win it not to end up against me for the reason because the defendants lawyer offered her a certain amount to drop it and to not feel COMFORTABLE in representing me. What kind of lawyer is this? Smh

Totally unhelpful! I contacted them about a civil rights issue and got some glorified lip service. Unfortunate.
