David Crossman is an exceptional attorney. A caring, hard working , dedicated individual. He provided the upmost care in helping me to win back a loss taken by the Schenectady housing authority unjustly. I recommend them to anyone in Schenectady being treated by the system unfairly.

Beware of this incompetent agency. They are a bunch of clowns you’re better off hiring your own lawyer. Attorney Jim Hauser is a racist, hateful miserable, Attorney. He deserves to be disbarred and I’ve already filed a complaint to the bar association against him. He was very rude to my mother and telling us stop don’t talk I’m speaking first not giving my mother his client a chance to speak. What type of piece of trash Attorney is that? You’re already collecting a salary from the agency of at least 85,000 a year. If you’re not happy with your job and your miserable go somewhere else in Private practice don’t take pro bono cases scumbag.

They have had a recording saying they are in a meeting from 1:30 to 2:30 on Thursday February 8th and to call back after then. Issue is I had called on Tuesday February 20. A week and a half after the recording said to call. No one answers the phone. I used them when they were on Colvin Ave in Albany and they were very helpful. Now that they are on Central Ave its totally different. When someone FINALLY answered the phone here she was very rude and unprofessional. Her words exactly and very uneducated, "Yous is gonna have to look in the yellow pages for a pro bono lawyer cause wes don't take people with legal issues". Yellow pages!!! They dont exist anymore! When I said that's what legal aid is for, aiding people with legal matters. And I told her I had used them before when I was divorcing my abusive ex husband. She then said, " Well Is don't know who yous talked to but we ain't got those services here." And hung up on me!!!! I reported them to the attorney General, better business bureau, and the governor. Hopefully that will light a match under their back ends.

I was happy to get someone first. The person who took my call sounded as if he worked from home no biggie yet was yawning throughout the intake. Awkward. Next day took call from attorney who told me they could not represent me due to low staff okay, them proceeded to tell me they could not help. Its an eviction due to car crash no fault no settlement lost of job, in pt, have to do sessions on mental health yeah mess, got behind on bills. Long story short, the attorney hardly let me talk, took nothing relevant to case I was calling on, sounded text book or robot like, weird. Gave me two options, and that worried me, for one was to not pay and move. Anyhow, just wanted a small help to get back into good graces but I know see everything is not what it seems. NYS retiree, daughter just got back to work, tax payers, and community volunteers and yet not one agency social services, disability, we are waiting on lawyers, however no help in the state I worked for and retired from. Very disheartening, and Legal Aid, just not with it.

Cole was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. We visited this office 95 Central Ave, this morning and wasn't given the information we had came for. Cole SPOKE TO US THROUGH THE DOOR as if fearful for his life with a 60 year old woman and toddler in tow. He was unprofessional and should reconsider serving the Albany community and his servitude field of work. I was a client years ago and this experience was awful based on that one. Legal Aid is supposed to provide so many more services than they actually do. They pick who and when to help. There are so many other things Cole could have done to help us. A flyer, a number, information on whether or not this was the right place to be. Instead he literally was shaking on the other side of the door when I am a 5'2 woman, with my old mother and toddler in tow. We are ofcourse colored women! He towered over us but somehow Cole didn't even have the courtesy to remove the barrier (DOOR) between us to talk to us like humans. Your job is in a field of service. You provide a service sir. Whether it was the service we were in search of or not, you SHOULD HAVE gone about it differently. Perhaps if we resembled or reminded you of your sister, mother and possibly daughter, you would have been far more friendly, informative and welcoming. Leave Albany son. We all look like me here or worse.

They don't pic up the phones and have tons of excuses on email.
Only provide service when people are about to be put out on the street. Scary Services.. Help people before they are squeezed.
