Paid way too much for way too little. I now have to go the arbitration process to get money back because I was billed twice based on a mistake in paperwork that was not completed/served appropriately. My mistake was not researching this attorney prior to hiring them. Now I see I am not the 1st person having to go to arbitration to get my money back. Getting charged twice for the same paperwork to be submitted to the court has nothing to do with anything I did wrong but she has no issue with billing me thousands for it. A yr later and i have lost nothing but money and time here.

You’re better off representing yourself!! Rebecca promised the moon in the initial consultation with my daughter regarding divorce settlement from the abusive husband. Hired in 2020 all she did was charge exorbitant rates and did almost nothing. The case was delayed for months because of her inaction. Due to a lack of communication and failure to answer questions, my daughter had no idea the delay was Rebecca’s negligence. Once formally fired, the divorce moved forward with self representation and was completed within one month. The whole experience was so disgusting I never left my comments until now.

I hired Rebecca between 2018-2021 to assist me with a Restraining Order, Child Custody Agreement and Move Away Order. Right out the gate I knew I was in for a contentious court battle.

After providing a written timeline about incidents that lead me into her office, Rebecca validated my experience and advocated for the permanent DVRO and supervised visitation I was requesting. All of which I requested over the last three years was granted by the Judge.

Rebecca's advice is short, realistic and based upon what she believes a Judge will grant- not what you want to hear. Frankly, the family court system is a cold place and you want someone on your side who understands that and knows how to work within the confines of the system. It is not her job to fix the system- but to advocate for you within it.

Kate the legal assistant is very pleasant and was always very responsive to my calls and emails. If I needed to speak to another attorney or Rebecca, my call was either returned or scheduled within a day. I was always notified within a week of my court date for input and to provide updates.

The office was flexible with payment dates for replenishing the retainer- which was very helpful in my situation.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this law firm if you are looking for a realistic, no nonsense approach to family court.

DO NOT HIRE REBECCA BURKE.

I urgently caution you not to hire Rebecca Burke. Rebecca Burke and her legal team are among the most incompetent lawyers. As a former client, I was misled by her guidance, she is greedy and overcharged for her services, she is sloppy in her arguments, unorganized and understaffed, she did not communicate what was going on with my case, and she cannot articulate well or write good drafts.

I was misled by her council. I hired Burke to represent my child custody and support case. It became clear she was not providing fair representation and did not fight for my legal rights when she suggested I help pay for an expert internal investigation into my finances to help my ex's case.

Rebecca Burke has poor communication. I was unheard, overcharged, and left out of crucial communications. There were many times she stated she would return my phone call or get back to me and never did. She did not even inform me of my court dates until the day of. I learned of our court date through a mutual friend I share with my ex. I was always wondering what was going on with my case and Rebecca ignored my inquiries for progress updates.

I was overcharged. Rebecca charged me for every single email that was related to my case including correspondence to me. She claimed to have held a 1.5 hour phone call with the financial expert digging into my records and ignored my requests for notes from the call. To this day, she has failed to provide any details from the phone call that costs me several hundreds of dollars and I do not know the outcome of their conversation.

She is sloppy in her work, unorganized, and understaffed. She did not know the ins and outs of the law and failed to coordinate effective court appearances. She refused to appear to court in person and during our court hearing, she let the other lawyer dominate the conversation and did not interject or speak on my behalf.

Her guidance was poor and after speaking with additional lawyers, they shared the council provided by Rebecca Burke was incorrect and flat out horrible. During a time when I was experiencing personal turmoil, Rebecca Burke only added to my troubles and she did not advocate for my well-being.

Save yourself the extra trouble and find a different lawyer.

Rebecca was not very professional; she didn’t consult with me or talk much other than the initial review for the case. She tried to convince me to agree to an adoption rather than fighting for my rights. She did not seem motivated to get the outcome that I was hoping for, but rather, she was more interested in getting the case over with. I would not recommend this lawyer if you are hoping for a strong, fighting chance.

Don't waist your money or time. This attorney is the worst ive ever seen. She will take your money and milk your case along. Lazy, unethical, has inappropriate relationships with opposing party and bills her clients.. Make sure you check her license to practice, if not yet, she soon will no longer be practicing law, in California.
