I stopped reading the Delta County Independent because I don't read much fiction these days. When they are not incorrect, their news is heavily slanted. I was a Paonia Trustee for 8 years and so was at the heart of local news. I would read the DCI story about a town meeting and wonder what planet they were on. If you want local North Fork news, the Merchant Herald is both more accurate and comprehensive.

I can't say I frequent it much but when you live in Delta everybody looks at the same thing in that paper for a hundred plus years so they're doing a good job at being a Delta paper
